The town of Hayfield, Mississippi was indeed boring. Uneventful.
Not exciting in the least bit. Until one Monday morning, everyone
woke up to the sound of sirens instead of the birds chirping. A
family of four- mother, father, son, and daughter had been
violently murdered. During the next month, people had been
turning up dead, seemingly out of random. The town has gotten
much publicity with the murders. Once a town mostly full of quiet
old folk is now filled with scholars, druggies, and a new
generation of people all togther. No one knows who's comitting
the murders, and with the surplus of people, it's getting more
and more impossible to figure it out. But still, everyone knows to
avoid being cast as a suspect. Keep your head down when you
walk. Don't make eye contact when you speak. And don't make
one wrong move. Because in the town of Hayfield, everyone's on
