KAORU IZUMI SEVENTEEN – FEMALE – BICURIOUS – EBONWUMON FOLLOWER – WANTS TO GO HOME The Friendlies If you want to be friends with Kaoru, you have to have a thing or two in common with her, otherwise she won’t be able to relate to you. Luckily, as everyone is pretty much in the same boat with this whole “get pulled into the Digital World thing and be stuck here for ages and ages”, it’s easy for Karu to relate to other Digidestined. While she doesn’t mind acting polite towards others, she really just wants to get home and isn’t going to wake up every morning with the goal of making new friends; so if you want to be friends, you have to make the first move. The other hurdle is that she’s rarely going to stray from the Northern continent, where Ebonwumon is, in case she misses out on an opportunity to go home, and is more likely to be on friendly terms with other Ebonwumon-faction members. Don’t let that put you off though – she's bound to venture around sooner or later
The Nasties If a person is boring or uninteresting, or Kaoru just finds you hard to relate to, she will ignore that person. As much as she can. Naturally, others might not appreciate this and there’s bound to be a few people out there who perceive Kaoru as a bit of a snob for doing that. She’s a bit weird too, knowing random bits of information from all over the place (endangered species of trees, anyone?), so I don’t blame anyone if they don’t really want to associate with her. And although she doesn’t tell the whole world that she wants to go home, it’s easy to tell that Kaoru isn’t entirely thrilled about the Digital World – which could annoy other characters, especially if they simply adore the fact they’re in a foreign land with big, scary monsters.
The Lovelies Spending her childhood buried in books, and her teenage years inconveniently stuck in the Digital World, Kaoru has hardly had an opportunity to experience with romance and the like (due to this, she’d probably sunconciously develop silly little crushes pretty easily). Being bicurious, Kaoru is open to experimenting with both genders – but getting home is the number one priority! But please mention if you're interested, since Romance plots are fun.
The Others Hmm…. If you have any other ideas, then let me know! Also, it’d be great to have one or two people who are aware of Kaoru’s desire to go home, and try to convince her that the Digital World isn’t that bad.

gray and kaoru since their parents were friends, it's possible that gray and kaoru knew each other before they entered the digital world. since she was busy with her books, he could have been closer to her brothers, only catching glimpses of her with her nose stuck in a book.
as for now that they're in the digital world, well. embarrassingly enough, gray isn't a very good reader. having departed the 'real' world around the time that he was just beginning to learn, he still has the reading capabilities of an eight year old. it's a fact that he is sorely ashamed of and hopes to one day change. i was thinking maybe their plot together could involve gray enlisting kaoru as a teacher of sorts, to help him learn how to read. he'd probably be quite impressed by all of her facts, as his level of knowledge is quite low. he's not dumb, per se, but he has more common sense than actual intelligence.
i can see them having a sort of student-teacher relationship, maybe something that would eventually become a close friendship.
what do you think?

gray&kaoru
True true. Kaoru would have definitely had her nose in a book and would have rarely paid any attention to Gray at all. But I do like the idea of a student-teacher relationship that turns into a friendship. Kaoru would be quite flattered actually, that he asked her to teach him how to read. Definitely up for this idea!
