After all, she felt as though she rarely done anything at all lately. Actually, that was a lie; today’s goal had been to climb to the top of a vending machine and use it like a (very tall) seat. Sure, it wasn’t much of a goal, but Kaoru had nothing else to do. She just sat on top of a vending machine and looked over the other ones. When she first came across this place, she had spent hours and hours wondering just why there were so many vending machines around. Empty ones at that too! But Kaoru had been here long enough – More than long enough, she had told herself for the umpteenth time last week – to know that slimy little green Digimon liked to hide in the vending machines, and was always careful to hang around the empty ones. She didn’t like the slimy green Digimon. They were slime, they looked like mutated snot. Sure they couldn’t help it, which was why Kaoru had never openly admitted her thoughts about them to anyone. Even to her Biyomon. Wait a second, Kaoru straightened up, and looked more carefully at the field in front of her. Where did he go? Oh I hope he didn’t get into a fight with another Dig-- “Boo!” |
Kaoru screamed. Biyomon had practically appeared out of nowhere, giving Kaoru quite a huge fright. Well, maybe a bigger fright than that. It had always been in the back of Kaoru’s mind that a slimy green Digimon (or even a mob of them!) would pop out of nowhere to terrorize her, so when a Digimon did do just that, it had frightened Kaoru enough to fall off the vending machine altogether. She was now lying on the ground, feeling a bit sore. Above her, she heard her Biyomon roar with laughter.
“I was worrying about you!”[/color] Kaoru moaned, feeling cheated by the world. Did anyone realise just how long it took her to climb up that vending machine, or how many attempts it took to do so? And, probably more importantly, did Biyomon not realise that falling off a vending machine hurt? In her head, Kaoru was already exaggerating what the bruises would look like.
“Well you shouldn’t have sat with your back to the edge,” Biyomon tried to say in a matter-of-factly way, but there was too much amusement his voice to let him be taken seriously. “And don’t worry. It looks like someone’s come along to help you.”
Oh that’s just what I need! Kaoru kept her complaints to herself this time and forced herself to sit up. She wasn’t exactly thrilled at the idea that someone had seen her fall off one of the many vending machines. Sure, it might have provided them some entertainment, but it didn’t stop it being embarrassing. Kaoru shifted so that she was sitting on her knees, and was dusting off her skirt when she realised that the person Biyomon had spotted actually existed, and had walked over to her. Kaoru briefly looked up at Biyomon and gave him a disapproving frown for putting her in such a embarrassing situation.
Biyomon only responded with his special bird-like grin.
